UX design and research for digital health and AgeTech

Whether you’re proving a concept or scaling a product suite, we help you find out what older adults and their care partners actually need before you invest too much.

Designing for people whose abilities are changing

You’re building for users whose attention, memory, dexterity, vision, and trust all shape whether they adopt your product. So does the fact that the person who benefits and the person tapping the screen are often two different people.

Most of what the design industry knows about onboarding, error handling, and progressive disclosure was learned from users who look nothing like yours. We’ll help you design an experience rooted in what your specific users need.

MVP product design and research for founders

Acheive product market fit before the runway runs out.

You have a concept, a deadline, and a set of assumptions underneath your roadmap. Some ideas came from your own experience with a parent or grandparent. Some came from a market report. None came from watching a seventy-eight-year-old attempt the task in your product.

You may have an investor conversation coming and a need to show something credible. You may have a pilot customer who wants a working demo. You are navigating HIPAA or FDA constraints without a compliance team. You probably do not have internal UX expertise, and you cannot afford to hire for it yet.

How we help teams like yours

  • Get to a working prototype fast. For LifeFile, we went from zero to a clickable prototype in three weeks. We use AI to accelerate research synthesis, design iteration, and front-end delivery, so the timeline reflects the tools we actually have.

  • Talk to real older adults and caregivers. We recruit participants who reflect the range of abilities your product serves, pace sessions for fatigue, and design tasks that do not penalize someone for taking a moment. This is the evidence your investors are asking for.

  • Design an MVP that earns its next round. Scope discipline about what belongs in version one and what can wait.

  • Support the raise. Product visuals and narrative that hold up in a pitch deck and a live demo.

What it costs: Research engagements are often the right first step because they scope tight and help ensure you’re on the right path. Prototype and concept work can move in weeks. We’ll talk budget and timeline on the first call and we will be direct about what fits.

Enterprise-grade design systems, usability & accessibility

UX that holds up as the product suite grows

You are a Head of Product or a Director of UX at a company working in elder care, remote monitoring, health data aggregation, or medication management. The product works. The problem is consistency.

Every new feature ships slightly differently from the last one. Onboarding was designed for a product that has since tripled in surface area. Accessibility came up in a customer conversation and now it is a roadmap item with a date on it. Your integrations are complex, your clinical stakeholders have opinions, and your design team is outnumbered by your engineering team.

You do not need someone to explain what UX is. You need senior practitioners who can operate inside an organization that already has process, and who understand the clinical workflows your product has to fit into.

How we help teams like yours

  • Build UX systems that scale. Component libraries and documentation so your team ships consistently as the suite grows, with accessibility built into the components rather than retrofitted feature by feature.

  • Fix onboarding for the product you have now. Most onboarding in this category was designed for a smaller, more preliminary product. We redesign for what you actually ship today, with attention to first-session comprehension for older users.

  • Run usability testing with older adults at a cadence. Ongoing testing with participants who reflect your actual user base, so decisions stop depending on whoever argues most confidently in the room.

  • Align with clinical workflows. We map how clinicians, care coordinators, and administrative staff actually move through their day, then design so your product fits that reality instead of fighting it.

  • Close the accessibility gap properly. Vision, motor, hearing, and cognitive differences addressed as a design baseline. If you have WCAG obligations, we design to them.

  • Work alongside your internal team. Most of our growth-stage engagements do. We work in your design system, hand off in Figma with the annotation your engineers need, and stay available through development. Several clients have paired their designers with ours so those designers can shadow senior practitioners.

How we operate at your scale

A dedicated lead, weekly meetings, and written status updates. Across our client reviews, project management is the strength clients mention most often. Our leadership stays close to every engagement, so nothing gets handed to someone who was not in the room.

We have worked inside complex technical environments including enterprise software, cybersecurity, and government. Dense systems with real consequences are familiar territory.

EXPERIENCE

How you know you can trust us.

  • We’re a vetted member of the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP, the global network of innovators, investors, and industry leaders working to make aging easier.

  • Our reputation is established. 4.9 stars on Clutch, and 159 verified client reviews.

  • We’ve been serving founders and product teams since 2012. Family-owned, majority woman-owned, and owner-operated, with a fully U.S.-based team.

  • This focus is personal. We were led here by our own experiences, having seen the effects of Alzheimer’s and brain change first hand. We came to this work as people who have navigated fragmented systems and watched well-meaning products make a hard day harder.
