In early 2021, Sliders sat down to share their thoughts and experiences. Jordan describes why he chose to join Slide UX.
Jordan is now a partner at Slide UX, but at the time he discovered our user experience agency, he had no idea what his future would bring. Prior to working at Slide UX, Jordan was a math teacher in Pennsylvania. When his girlfriend got a job in Austin, TX, he had to find a new job.
Jordan said, ”Why did I choose Slide UX? That's actually a really good question because, for me, not only was this a new job, but I was completely switching careers and industries. So for me, the first thing that really drew me to the company was actually like the job description!”
“I knew I had marketable skills, and I was looking for a way to put those to good use, so when I came across the job description for the operations analyst role for which I applied, I just thought it was written really well, and in a style that I could really vibe with.”
“So I really liked the tone and that led me obviously to start doing a little research for the company, because I hadn't ever heard of Slide UX before. As soon as I stumbled upon the website. I started looking at some of the team members and reading some “Meet a slider” posts, and I immediately was drawn to the people.”
“They seem to be experts in their field, but a little quirky, a little nerdy… and I was like, ‘These are my type of people! This is exactly the type of company I would like to work for!”
So, obviously things worked out for the better, and here I am, but I would have to say, just the overall vibe, and people here are really what was attractive to me.
“And when thinking about how my expectation has compared to my experience, I would say my experience here has far exceeded my expectations. Not that i didn't have high expectations, but just the skills that i've learned and developed, and the role that I've sort of grown into here at Slide is more than I ever could have anticipated. In the two and a half, or two and a quarter years that i've been here, I've learned so much about what it means to run a business what it takes behind the scenes to help support such an effective team.
“I've really learned and appreciated what it's like to work with adults versus a classroom full of seventh grade students which I can really appreciate. And I can't wait to see what the future has in store here because so far my experience has just been phenomenal.”
