Legacy Planning, Brought to Life
AgeTech Startup in Austin, TX
Can families avoid chaos when a loved one can no longer manage their own business?
LifeFile set out to solve one of the most emotionally fraught and practically messy problems families face: what happens when a loved one dies or becomes incapacitated? In most households, vital information such as documents, digital assets, and final wishes are scattered across cloud accounts, filing cabinets, and the minds of a few family members. The result is confusion, stress, and potentially lost assets during already traumatic times.
LifeFile aimed to create a simple, secure, and emotionally resonant solution that empowers families to plan ahead, stay organized, and ensure their digital legacy is preserved. The product needed to work for people without a legal background or professional assistance.
There was no clear roadmap. The market was growing, competitive, and emotionally complex. LifeFile needed more than just an MVP. They needed clarity, alignment, and momentum.
Slide UX delivered a fully functional, development-ready, research-backed prototype in just 3 weeks.
Here’s how:
From defining the product’s purpose to delivering a prototype and front-end development base, we worked closely with LifeFile at every stage. Our approach blended strategic UX and emotionally intelligent design. The process included several fast-paced steps from our propriety, AI-accelerated process.
Strategy Alignment Workshop
We brought stakeholders together to identify the emotional truths and practical gaps in legacy planning. This session clarified internal priorities and defined the tone LifeFile needed to strike: empathetic, clear, and calm.
Product Vision Blueprint
We helped shape a concise articulation of the product’s purpose. LifeFile would be a living digital vault designed for everyday families, not just for those with wealth or legal teams. This vision served as the foundation for future decisions.
Persona Profiles
We created detailed personas such as Prepared Paul, Legacy Linda, and Executor Ethan. These user profiles captured key life stages, emotional triggers, and practical needs to ensure broad relevance and empathy.
Market Landscape Summary
We analyzed demographic shifts, consumer trends, and enterprise adoption patterns. This helped validate the opportunity and informed how LifeFile could stand out in a crowded and sensitive market.
Competitor Analysis Report
We evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of platforms like Trust & Will, Everplans, GoodTrust, and Empathy. This revealed a strategic opening for LifeFile to offer a smart, family-focused vault guided by AI.
AI-Powered User Insights
We used AI to analyze user interviews and behavioral data, uncovering unmet needs and friction points. These insights helped prioritize features and shape messaging.
Needs-Driven Product Roadmap
Our roadmap emphasized emotional value in the early phases. We focused on guided setup, secure sharing, and printable plans before expanding into integrations and automation.
Domain-Tuned AI Agent
We created a custom-trained GPT agent tailored specifically to LifeFile’s product, users, and business context. The result was an intelligent, context-aware tool designed to support the internal team. It could answer strategic questions, simulate user behavior, provide content and feature guidance, and support faster decision-making. The Domain-Tuned AI Agent became a powerful, always-on extension of the team’s knowledge.
A detailed map of the future product helped the team align around what would be built.
Experience Architecture
We mapped a step-by-step journey from account setup to document organization and eventual family sharing. The structure emphasized simplicity and reassurance.
Functional Specs
We documented detailed screen requirements with interaction guidance and system logic. This allowed designers and developers to move quickly without ambiguity or rework.
Clickable Prototype
Using Lovable, we built and tested a high-fidelity interactive prototype. It included real content and flows that simulated the final experience and allowed for early feedback from users and stakeholders.
UI Code Starter Repository
We created a GitHub-hosted front-end starter kit using Tailwind CSS and modular components. This gave LifeFile’s team a solid foundation for building a consistent and scalable interface.
“I know from my years of experience in bringing products to market that what Slide UX accomplished for LifeFile in 3 weeks would normally have taken 9-12 months and a lot of money.”

The Slide UX team delivered fast results with heart. Our process ensured clarity at every step, blending emotional insight with functional delivery. The outcome is a trustworthy foundation that LifeFile can build on as it grows into a category leader.
