đź‘Ź I'm feeling đź‘Ź SOđź‘Ź energized!
Last week, our fully remote team converged in Austin, TX for our second in-person gathering of the year. We celebrated our 10th anniversary (with lessons learned along the way). The theme was magic and the event, planned by our VP of Ops Tom Drugan, was magical, indeed.
We started with a beautiful sunset happy hour at a rooftop bar overlooking the rolling trees of southwest Austin, and then spent a half-day in our quarterly business review celebrating a good Q3 and making plans for how to be even better.
We got competitive in a riveting game of trivia, and accompanied a herd of 60 goats on their evening walk in the hills.
We took in a private magic show before a good night's sleep, enjoyed a casual brunch at a local favorite before heading off to explore Austin on our own for our biweekly Flex Friday.
Finally, after a major change in weather, we "went the mile" at Austin's Walk to End Alzheimer's.
The week was a reminder that not only is Austin a magical place, but the Slide UX team is a magical group of people. They solve seemingly impossible problems. They astonish and amaze their audience (product leaders like you!) with beautiful design work and skillful problem solving. Last week's even reminded me that they are also entertainers and storytellers.
The past couple of years were full of the hectic and unexpected, and this year is no different. But one thing that came up repeatedly last week? Slide UX has consistently offered a sense of steadiness and normalcy while chaos swirled. For that, I'm immensely grateful.
As we turn our attention to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday here in the states, I'm filled with thanks for this team, its leaders, and the nearly 200 clients who have trusted us this past decade to bring the magic!
