Our transition management process
Having worked with nearly 200 clients over 12 years, we’ve seen that a cold-turkey handoff from one team to another can threaten the value we’ve worked hard to create, and may compromise the experience other teams have working with you.
That’s why we encourage clients to talk openly with us about their plans for hiring and manage the transition carefully. Our transition management process has three phases.

What responsibilities need to shift?
Who are they shifting from, and who are they shifting to?
What does the new responsible party need in order to maintain quality and consistency?
What timelines do we want to hit?
Knowledge transfer: Even a very capable UX professional has a lot to learn when they start at a new company. We’ve got background, team relationships, research insights, UI standards, and work in progress. Through work sessions, introductions, and working side-by-side, we can ensure none of your prior UX investment is lost in transition. Depending on the talent you bring in, we can also address upskilling.
Toolkit development: Our team develops toolkits, style guides, design systems, and processes for each client team. We will equip your team with these bespoke tools and resources.
Ongoing support: Our experts can work directly with your team to provide ongoing collaboration and troubleshooting as your team gains independence. We can partner with your design leadership team to check in on progress, address gaps and challenges, and make necessary adjustments.
