Principal UX Researcher (Contract Position)

Slide UX is seeking an experienced Principal UX Researcher to join our team on a 14-week contract basis. You will be working on user-centered research projects that support the development of educational analytics products for stakeholders, including parents, students, and educators. This role is ideal for a researcher with a strong background in UX methodologies and user research techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead User Research:
Conduct qualitative research, including in-depth interviews with parents, students, and educators, to identify their needs and how they interact with educational data products.
Facilitate 1-on-1 remote interviews for diverse audiences, including school principals, teachers, counselors, and district staff across multiple states.
Synthesize findings into actionable insights to guide product teams in creating impactful user experiences for educational analytics platforms.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Lead kickoff meetings to align goals, scope, and roles with internal teams and clients.
Present research findings and facilitate collaborative synthesis sessions with stakeholders and internal teams.
Competitive Analysis:
Conduct competitive research on educational data products and platforms used by parents, students, and educators.
Analyze competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, and present this analysis in a structured review to the team.
Deliverables & Reporting:
Prepare and present comprehensive analysis decks and synthesis reports summarizing user insights, trends, and competitive research.
Provide interview recordings, session notes, and other research artifacts to support decision-making processes.
Lead review sessions to iterate and refine user personas, product concepts, and design solutions based on research findings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and client teams to ensure that research findings are translated into meaningful product improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 8+ years of hands-on UX research experience.
Skills: Expertise in user interviews, qualitative research, competitive analysis, and synthesis of complex data into actionable insights.
Tools: Experience with tools like Zoom, UserInterviews.com, and Google Suite for conducting and managing research sessions.
Communication: Strong presentation and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Location: Remote, with the ability to manage scheduling and communication across multiple time zones.
Contract Details:
Duration: 14 weeks.
Commitment: 40-hrs per week.
Compensation: $80/hour.
