Contract to Hire | Apply by Midnight CST on Wed, May 8, 2024

We're Slide UX, an award-winning, client-focused, family-owned, fully-remote, user experience design consultancy. Our team helps clients deliver better user experiences through thoughtful user research and high-quality UI design. Along the way, we help shift organizational cultures to put the user at the center.

We're seeking an organized, reliable, and detail-oriented designer at a senior level, which often equates to 5+ years of full-time experience.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our project leads and clients to create experiences that exceed user expectations. You recognize that good development outcomes depend on good communication, and you want to make sure the intent represented in your designs is clear to those who will work from them. And you seek exposure to strategy, research, and analytics. You are no stranger to client communication, and you want to understand the challenge before designing for it.

As a Senior UX Designer, you will:

Analyze and understand clients' objectives and business strategies, providing recommendations aligned with their overarching needs.

  • Build strong external relationships with clients and foster internal team collaboration, ensuring seamless project execution.

  • Actively engage in client discussions, asking pertinent questions, and articulating design rationale effectively.

  • Maintain open communication with clients, promptly addressing queries, tracking project status, and setting clear expectations.

  • Summarize meeting discussions and action items, communicating details back to the team to ensure clarity and alignment.

  • Contribute to the establishment of design strategies, plans, concepts, and systems.

  • Demonstrate discernment in decision-making, balancing between experimentation and adhering to established frameworks.

  • Provide constructive critiques of colleagues' work and collaborate efficiently in real-time settings.

  • Solicit and embrace feedback from team members, responding thoughtfully and receptively.

  • Recognize when assistance is needed and proactively seek support.

  • Facilitate internal and external meetings, ensuring clear agendas and capturing organized meeting notes.

  • Drive project momentum by implementing iterations promptly post-meetings.

  • Execute plans efficiently, minimizing unnecessary back-and-forth communication.

  • Adhere to project scope and deliverables, staying informed of project expectations and utilizing planning systems effectively.

  • Communicate project status accurately and promptly to relevant stakeholders.

  • Promptly acknowledge client communications and address inquiries as needed.

  • Challenge unclear plans and propose revisions based on new information.

  • Possess a strong understanding of user interface design principles, facilitating effective communication with developers and leadership.

  • Demonstrate expertise in visual concepting, high-fidelity UI/UX design, prototyping, and development specifications.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate fresh perspectives into design work.

  • Utilize various methodologies to enhance user experiences, aligning with Slide's UX principles.

  • Proficiently wireframe and employ techniques to contextualize decision-making within project frameworks.

  • Apply heuristics and recognize user experience patterns to inform design decisions.

  • Deliver well-structured, thoughtful, and organized design deliverables.

  • Master tools and processes essential for job performance.

You’re likely to thrive at Slide UX if you have:

  • Willingness to break through the virtual barrier and form bonds, even with teammates you don’t see IRL often.

  • The ability to learn and adapt quickly, master established processes, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Precise, organized, reliable, and detail-oriented traits.

  • Curiosity - digging into the industry’s latest trends and breakthroughs to find better ways to do things.

  • A confident, professional and helpful communication style.

  • A positive, results-oriented attitude.

  • The resourcefulness to figure some things out for yourself, and balance competing priorities.
